Hi @KittyBlau,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with your laptop's fan running constantly after recent updates, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue.

Check Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check if any particular process is consuming high CPU usage. This might help identify if a specific program or process is causing the fan to run constantly.

Reboot Your Laptop: Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve various software-related issues, including those caused by recent updates.

Rollback Updates: If you suspect that the recent updates are causing the issue, you can try rolling them back. Here's how to do it:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click on "View update history."
  • Click on "Uninstall updates."
  • Locate the updates you suspect might be causing the issue (in this case, the HP Development Company System and HP Inc. HIDClass updates) and uninstall them.
  • Restart your laptop after uninstalling the updates.

Update Device Drivers: Sometimes, outdated or incompatible device drivers can cause issues with hardware components like the fan. Try updating your device drivers to the latest versions. You can do this through Device Manager or by visiting the HP support website and downloading the latest drivers for your laptop model.

Check BIOS Settings: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, changes in BIOS settings can affect how hardware components behave.

Check for BIOS Update: Visit the HP support website and check if there's a BIOS update available for your laptop. If there is, consider updating your BIOS as it might include fixes for issues related to fan control.

Before making any significant changes to your system, it's always a good idea to back up your important files and data to prevent any potential data loss.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
