Hi @Koslick,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Upgrading an HP 24 All-in-One depends on the specific model, but in general, here are the components that can typically be upgraded.
Memory (RAM)
- Check Compatibility: Determine the type and maximum capacity of RAM your system supports (e.g., DDR4, max 16GB or 32GB).
- Steps:
- Power off the PC and disconnect all cables.
- Remove the back panel of the All-in-One (usually involves unscrewing screws at the base and carefully prying it open).
- Locate the RAM slots and replace or add modules.
- Reassemble and power on.
Storage (HDD/SSD)
- Options: Upgrade to a larger HDD, a faster SSD, or add an SSD if space and ports are available.
- Steps:
- Follow similar steps to access the internals.
- Replace the existing drive or add a new one (ensure you have mounting brackets or cables if needed).
- Clone the OS to the new drive or reinstall it.
Processor (CPU)
- Feasibility: Some All-in-Ones use socketed CPUs that can be replaced, but others use soldered ones that cannot. Check the service manual for your model.
- Steps: If the CPU is upgradeable:
- Carefully remove the existing CPU after detaching the cooler.
- Replace with a compatible processor.
- Reapply thermal paste and reattach the cooler.
Graphics (GPU)
- Many All-in-Ones use integrated GPUs. If yours has a dedicated GPU, upgrading might be possible, but space and thermal limitations can make it challenging.
Wireless Card
- Upgrade to a newer Wi-Fi 6 card if your model supports it.
Software/Firmware
- Ensure your BIOS and drivers are up to date for optimal performance.
- Consider upgrading your operating system if you're on an older version.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
