Hi,

any one know where the SSD connector 924992-001 and the bracket 92498-001 for reploacing the HHD with a SSD in this notebook laptop  can be located? Or is the factory even making these adapters anymore? Those twoparts, and of course a compatible SSD, are all that's needed for the swap, right?

Mille grazie...

Why you have to do that ? You can directly replace existing 2.5" 1TB HDD with a 2.5" 1TB SSD. Using connector and bracket is wasting your money and get same result., not gaining anything.

Basically any standard 2.5" SSD will do the job OR the following known compatible SSD

thank you Banhien! 😁 . An older HP notebook manual said a new connector and a bracket would be needed for upgrading to to an SSD. But you are right: the HP SSD S700  I just bought fits right into the existing connector board. SO WHY did the manual say a new connector board would be needed, I ask?????😣? But a new bracket would help secure the SSD which now is only held in place by the connector board. Since I cannot find a securing bracket, I will  try to take some external side rails from the old HHD, and use them to hold the new SSD drive in place. Parts HP says The new bracket is on back order, and no one seems to have one for sale. Thanks again for being so helpful.
