Currently installed RAM is 1x 8 GB on my HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ck015nd.
This is 1 x 8 GB DDR4-2666 (1333 Mhz).
I would like to upgrade this RAM by installing 1 X 16GB DDR4 RAM.
what RAM speed is best to insert? What RAM speeds are supported by this model?
Thanks,
Mathijs

You're very welcome.
The non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable statement means that HP does not recommend customers perform any upgrades themselves, but by an authorized HP service center.
If you feel you can do the memory upgrade yourself without damaging anything in the process, feel free to do so.
The memory removal and replacement procedure can be found in chapter 5 of the service manual.
HP states the max is 2 x 8 GB of memory which is why there is no 1 x 16 GB configuration.
The Crucial memory report does indicate that 2 x 16 GB of memory is supported, so if you wanted to add a 16 GB chip to the 8 GB chip in there, that would most likely work.
The processor and chipset your notebook has can support 32 GB of memory.
It is very possible that HP just didn't test 32 GB of memory in that model series to see that it worked.
I don't recommend installing mismatched capacities of memory because it runs in the lower performing single data rate mode.
When you install memory in matching capacities (2 x 8 GB, 2 x 16 GB) the memory runs in the higher performing dual data rate mode.

Hi:
Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your model.

If you just want to add a second 8 GB chip to go to 16 GB, I would recommend this one...

Hi @Paul_Tikkanen,
thanks for your reaction. However, this leads to additional questions:
1. in the manual (link in your message), section Memory , there is stated Two SODIMM memory module slots, non-customer-accessible/non-upgradable
Does that mean I cannot access the memory slots? To insert the new RAM modules?
2. I was planning to insert 1 x 16GB RAM. However this configuration is not mentioned in the supported configuration. Is this an error in the manual?
