hello, I'm wondering if it's possible upgrade my workstation 8740w to use SSD SATA 3.0 without lose speed!

Controller comes with its motherboard. You need new motherboard (if available). It is the hardware issue and no software can change it including BIOS.
Sorry, your SSD has to run @ 3GB/s, not 6Gb/s
