Hello everyone!
mine is a simple question, is it possible to mount the Core i7-3610QM processor on my elitebook 8470p i5 laptop? I am 99% sure that it is possible but before buying the processor I would like to have the final confirmation ..
thank you all!

At the top of each of the pages which lists the processors, there is a checkmark which shows the units that are applicable to the 8470w and the 8470p. Both notebooks are described in the same Maintenence & Service guide right down to the HP part numbers.
Use that list to see which applicable processor you want as an upgrade candidate. Write down the Intel part number and then look at the other pages which show the HP p/n applicable to the Intel p/n.

Unfortunately, the answer is no.
If you had an Elitebook 8470w mobile Workstation the answer would be yes.
See the Maintenance & service guide on pages 1 and 2
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03659338
page 2 has the compatible 3rd gen i7 processors that will work. It is highly recommended that you use the HP part numbers in your search for the processor you are going to use. The processor list with part numbers is on page 35 of the Computer major components section of the service guide.
