upgrade laptop

I buy a new laptop and I want to upgrade RAM and Storage

• first of all i want to use m.2 ssd drive (solid state drive) put i dont need to remove my HDD drive , now i have m.2 socket alone ???? and what type is ?????

• and i want to upgrade ram also what the Serial Number of the ram to buy it ???

It shows that there is an M.2 Slot and you can have dual storage config as in to have a 1TB SSD and a 256GB SSD;

For RAM:

DDR4-2133 dual channel support (6th and 7th generation Intel Core processors)

Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following conƭgurations

● 16384-MB total system memory (8192×2)

● 12288-MB total system memory (8192×1) + (4096×1)

● 8192-MB total system memory (8192×1) or (4096×2)

● 6144-MB total system memory (4096×1) + (2048×1)

● 4096-MB total system memory (4096×1)

The document also shows part numbers for parts that usually HP put in this laptop and you can get those from shop like HP Part Surfer or EET Europarts;

Your PC supports max 16GB of DDR4 2133Mhz RAM (2x8GB)

You should use 2400Mhz modules of your preferred brand such as Crucial, Samsung.... At the moment you have one stick of 8GB. So you could add another 8GB stick and bring total to 16GB.

This is what the PC has been tested with, however HP DDR4 systems will actually run with 32GB of RAM (2x16GB).

On page 50 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM.

Your PC should support an M2 SATA3 drive such as the Samsung M2 860evo . However, before purchasing the drive I would open the PC and see if the slot is present (possibly not) as sometimes PCs which where not bought with M2 drive are actually missing the physical slot.

If you are missing the slot, your only option would be to replace the hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.
