upgrade my processor to a dual core

compaq presario cq61 notebook pc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to change my processor to a dual core from a intel celeron 900 penryn, on a hewlett-packard 3069 motherboard.   BIOS F20 system

Hi:

 

Since your notebook has an Intel Celeron processor, it has the Intel GL40 chipset, which means you can only install a supported processor with a max FSB of 800 MHz.

According to chapter 1 of the manual, the best processor you can upgrade to would be the T6600 2.2-GHz processor.
