I'd like to know if I can update this model's CPU to a faster one. At the moment, it's an AMD Sempron SI-46, codename Griffin, at 29.4 watts, according to CPU-Z. It also says Athlon QI-46, family F, model 3, stepping 1...
For the BIOS, it says version F.23 - AMD AGESA X4.1.0.3 of 01/05/2009
Thank you in advance,
Mitscha

Here's the Service Manual:
The ZM-86 would work:

Latest BIOS is F.38:

BIOS flash is designed to run in a Vista or Windows 7 environment.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Thank you very much..
the link for the BIOS flash is for a HP Pavilion dv5-1000, not my dv5-1205oe. Is this correct?
The bios itself was a direct dwl-link, so I couldn't verify whether it's for my laptop, and I really don't want to brick it!
