Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the older 15s-fq0xxx model series.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

According to chapter 1 of that manual, the notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

Since the manual is out of date as far as the processor generation, you can run this command to see how much memory your notebook can support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Hi

Thank you so much for your speedy assistance, in answering my question. i followed your instructions and it says MaxCapacityEx 33554432 ..On a google converter it says 33.554432 Gigabytes.

While doing further research on how to check my ram & get all the correct information on upgrading i found the following

Hi

Just a quick update to let you know i carried out the upgrade to 32gb of Ram, on my 3day old HP Laptop 15s-fq4577sa.

Everything went very smoothly, i checked the manual on how to remove the rear cover using a small plastic splitting tool i had for changing covers on my Xbox hand controller, The rear case was easy to remove to access the ram modules. Everything is back together and working great, ounce again thanks for your assistance
