Hi,

You can upgrade to 16GB of DDR3L 160MHz RAM (2x8GB)

There are two slots and at the moment you have one 8GB module.

On page 55 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

You can replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD of your preferred brand and capacity. You can then reinstall the OS on the SSD.
