Hi,
I have a HP Probook 4330s with i3-2310m 2.1 Ghz processor, HD 3000 integrated graphics, and 8gb RAM (1333Mhz). I see on the manual online that this laptop was also delivered with i7-2620M 2.7Ghz. Previous posts on this forum and other online forums indicate that it is possible to upgrade to this i7 CPU.
is it just a matter of buying any i7-2620M? Or are there different types of the same cpu? I’m asking because some forum posts talk about socket and other things? What do I need to look for when buying this cpu for my computer?
Please tell.

Massao.
The SOCKET is the same for both so no worries there.
Both have the same STEPPING J1 no worries there.
Both have the same TPD 35W no worries there.
Just make sure you replace the thermal paste.

Hi, thanks. Is this the best cpu I can install in my laptop? Or I can aim for an even better(faster) one?
And, Is there any recomendation on thermal paste (manufacturer, specs, etc)? Or any thermal paste would do?
