Hello. I want to upgrade my old laptop's ram for better gaming performance. But I do not know where to start. I have already checked my system's memory, it is 8GB, I do not know if it it upgradable. I have opened up the laptop and saw two slots. Can someone tell me if it is upgradeable and how much memory? If so, which product should I try go for? Sorry, I only know basic computer stuff.

Hi:
According to chapter 1 of the service manual, your notebook supports 2 x 4 GB of memory.
HP Notebook PC (AMD)HP 255 G4 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
However, the Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates that it can support 2 x 8 GB of memory.
HP - Compaq HP 15-af157sa | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
I don't know why they don't have the 8 GB memory chip listed but this is the part number for it:
Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM | CT102464BF160B | Crucial UK
You can also do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
