I would like to upgrade/add a 512 hard drive to my laptop. Is there a slot available on the motherboard or do I need to simply purchase a new larger drive and replace my current drive? I'm currently sitting at 32Gigs space remaining.

Hi:
Since your notebook only has one M.2 SSD slot, you would have to replace the existing drive with one having a greater storage capacity.
The service manual indicates that HP offered NVMe SSD's up to 256 GB
I don't see any reason why you couldn't install a NVMe SSD up to 1 TB if you wanted.
Recommendations: The Samsung 980 (not 980 Pro), the Western Digital BLue SN570 or the Hynix Gold P31
