Hi  @molamwema

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your USB hub stopped functioning after a recent Windows 11 update, dont worry I'll help you work through this.

To better understand the situation, could you kindly share the following details?

  • HP product model number ?
  • Are you using a built-in USB port or an external USB hub/docking station?
  • Are all USB ports affected, or only certain ports?
  • Do other USB devices (mouse, keyboard, flash drive, etc.) work when connected directly to the computer?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

Step 1: Perform a Power Reset - Click here for steps

  1. Shut down the computer.
  2. Disconnect the USB hub and all external devices.
  3. Unplug the power adapter.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power adapter and start the computer.
  6. Test the USB hub again.

Step 2: Check Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  3. Look for any devices showing a yellow warning icon.
  4. Right-click the affected USB device and select Update Driver.
  5. If the issue persists, right-click and select Uninstall device, then restart the computer.

Step 3: Disable USB Power Management

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  3. Open the properties of each USB Root Hub.
  4. Select the Power Management tab.
  5. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  6. Click OK and restart the computer.

Step 4: Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Kindly ensure your system BIOS and chipset drivers are up to date from the HP Support website - https://support.hp.com/
