i have just bought a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-ba0xx and am really concerned about the battery life. I have a 6 year old laptop with a battery that lasts longer. The battery life is around 4hrs maximum with standard use. not movies / videos

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher is at your service.

As I understand there are issues within the battery life and the adapter pin,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you attempted to change the battery power plans to match your preferences?

If you haven't, here's what you need to know:

  • Video about improving your notebook battery performance
  • How long does a notebook battery last?
  • Adjusting notebook battery power plans
  • Factors that contribute to loss of notebook battery capacity
  • Recommended notebook battery care practices
  • Original battery charges slowly, replacement battery charges normally
  • Special recommendations for embedded (not customer replaceable) notebook batteries
  • Tips for conserving notebook battery power

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

Hi,

Thanks for your response. Yes I've tried battery saver with 50% screen brightness but the battery life is still poor. It is lasting a maximum of 4.5hrs with occasional use (not intensive video playback)

I'm really concerned I'm not struck with this HP laptop..

@SMI32d75

Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉

I appreciate your time and efforts,

Did you know that the battery you have is a 3-cell, 41 Wh Li-ion battery?

A 3 Cell battery battery when compared to a 6 cell or 9 cell does provide less battery backup, that said, did you check the other steps I had suggested on that link to improve the battery performance to suit your preferences?

If not, please do and get back to me with the results.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" button,

Have a great day!
