So I was running the passmark performance tests today, and I got some abysmal results. The passmark software allows you to compare the performance of your hardware vs the performance measured of the same hardware model by other users. As it turns out, my CPU could almost be considered an outlier of poor performance:
Now, let's note that whatever the actual rating given doesn't matter, but what matters is the position in this histogram. According to it, my CPU was rated the worse than 83% of all CPU's of the same model. Needless to say, a similar result was given for all the other hardware components of my computer. Let's look at the results for the RAM:
Would you recommend me actually sending it in?

Sending it to where -- HP? Sending it in for what -- because you're unhappy with the performance?
HP's warranty does not cover performance or personal dissatisfaction -- so HP is not going to replace this for you.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

It seems you did not read my post carefully. Obviously, the performance itself cannot be warranted given that a pentium2 will never perform as a core-i7. However, a core-i7 should perform like a core-i7. Hence, when a core-i7's performance falls outside the inter-quartile range of the normal distribution of performances for that model, it seems to me that this is a possible symptom of a hardware or software issue. Ergo, it is not about the performance, it is about the hardware not functioning up to standard.
