hey I have a 

HP Pavilion Star Wars Special Edition Laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce 940M I was wondering if I could upgrade it to a 940MX or higher and where I could do that.

so even if it is a dedacated video card it cannot be upgraded? but do all laptops have it solidaded on the motherboard or could it be a replaceble one?

Hi,

 

 

You cannot upgrade graphics chip in your laptop. It is soldered on to the motherboard.

It is not possible to update it to be an integrated chip, despite being a dedicated graphic is not possible, I leave the image:

All integrated (dedicated) or shared graphics can be repaired with the reballing method, but the problem that leads to hundreds of welded connections to the motherboard and to the motherboard fails again, just like a new graphic replacement, but it is not recommended.
