want to upgrade PC HP Pavilion 15-au023cl (ENERGY STAR) RAM

So I want to upgrade my PC HP Pavilion 15-au023cl (ENERGY STAR) RAM from 12GB to MAX but the system tell me the max is 32 but running a test on Crucial website says max is 16, also pc is slow and based on the system in one part it says I have Free 5.72GB out of 12GB. I dont know what to do, also tried to added to my profile but the Product number cant be found.

The memory specs are incorrect.  Your notebook uses DDR4 memory, not DDR3L-1600 memory.

The best thing you can do to increase performance in your notebook would be to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

Look into one of the Western Digital Blue SA510 2.5" drives in a storage capacity that meets your needs and budget.

Your notebook probably supports 2 x 16 GB of memory, but probably 32 GB is overkill.

Replace the 4 GB memory chip with an 8 GB memory chip and have 16 GB of memory running in dual channel mode.

Right now, you have 12 GB of memory running in the lower performing single channel mode because in order for the memory to run in dual channel mode, it has to be installed in matching capacities in each slot (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB).

I've zipped up and attached the specs page that won't open for you, below.

The memory speed information is incorrect.  It is DDR4-2133 MHz and you would use a DDR4-2400 CL17 memory chip to install because they are easy to find.
