Good evening.

Given the Covid 19 emergency, it has become an important means of communication, the webcam of my laptop.

In this regard, there was a problem that the webcam warning light turns on, but the device does not work, with any program giving a malfunction error. However, it appears to be more of a software problem than a hardware problem.

I have already tried to reinstall the operating system with its official drivers installed, but the problem persists. I wanted to know if anyone has any advice/solutions about it.

Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

@Hardfas

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
