Hi:

The product specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with an Intel processor, not AMD.

HP Laptop 17-cn0176ng Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

The entire 17-c0xxx model series is an Intel based model series.

Here's the service manual...

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support, no matter what model it is...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

The command is telling you that you can install up to 2 x 32 GB of memory for a total of 64 GB.

This would be your correct model series.

But according to the service manual on the support page, it shows the memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded, so something is wrong...either the product specs or the service manual.

I recommend opening up the notebook and checking things out before buying any memory.
