i want to upgrade the processor on my HP Pavillion G7-1173dx but i want to know what the best possible upgrade would be for my laptop. i have window 7 home premium 64-bit as my operating system and i am using 8-gb or RAM in my system, currently my processor is a AMD Phenom(tm) II P650 Dual-Core Processor and i want to upgrade to a better one. What would be the best possible choice for me as far as an upgrade to a better processor?

Hi,
Yes, your machine uses 2.60GHz Vision Premium Technology from AMD with AMD Phenom II Dual-Core Mobile Processor P650 :
And there is a list of CPU's supported on page 90 of the following manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02834058.pdf
Manual also shows you how to replace CPU (processor) from page 92. Please use right part number
Regards.
