Microsoft Windows 11

hi, I was wondering if I could find the maximum amount of ram that the HP Pavilion x360 Laptop - 14-dw0095tu supports for upgrading the ram, I did find so some suggestions that maximum was 16gb of ram, but once I tried the command prompt to figure out the maximum ram it showed that 32gb was the max, so can anyone please tell me the correct amount and explain the reason why the command prompt info was wrong if 32gb of maximum ram is not true for this hp model.

From the Maintenance & Service guide for your laptop model series (Page 1, Ch 1, table 1-1)

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06615619.pdf

"DDR4-3200, 1.2 V, nonupgradeable, onboard system memory in 16 GB (16 GB×1, 8 GB×2),
12 GB (8 GB×1 + 4 GB×1), 8 GB (8 GB×1, 4 GB×2), and 4 GB (4 GB×1) configurations"

It is not memory upgradeable. The laptop can be configured to order (CTO) with up to 16GB of onboard memory.

Kingston and Crucial memory also do not sell upgrade memory for the laptop. Unfortunately, you can't always trust the  Windows command line to give correct information about a laptop as it is configured.

Hi, @Yaas0009

The product specs from HP do not indicate that the memory is onboard like they usually do when the memory cannot be removed.

According to chapter 5 of the maintenance and service guide, the memory is removable/upgradable and HP offered memory chips in 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB capacities, so your notebook should be able to support 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 memory.

It appears that the memory is located underneath a metal cover.

The HP service teardown video also shows the memory is removable and replaceable.
