My laptop is BSOD loop - i suspect Rtc REALTIME CLOCK BATTERY / CMOS BATTERY may be the issue due to lost time stamp in BIOS - I cannot seem to locate or identify where the cmos battery is located - have they permanently embedded it within the board on this laptop?

Hi,

There is no CMOS battery in the machine as it has an internal battery.

The BSOD is probably not caused by the BIOS. Did the BSOD occur all of a sudden? Did you change any settings, perform any updates, install new devices, software?

You could also try the latest BIOS if you are having problems with the clock.

Let me know,

I have done all of the following

1. Run diagnostic - result all good - still BSOD

2. Replace Ram - Still BSOD

3. Replace hard drive and attempt recovery install from thumb drive - will not install - still bsod

4. can no longer access recovery system or command prompt

5. attempted bios update from thumbdrive - will not install - still BSOD

I suspected CMOS battery because of the time clock fail in bios

Am i SOL (sh*t out of luck)?
