I want to buy an sd card to create backup space on my laptop, however the sd card reader does not accept all card types. When I tried to read a sandisk ultra card of 64Gb (read and grey micro sd with adapter) the laptop could read the card just fine. A 128Gb sandisk extreme card (gold and red micro sd with adapter) was not recognized (errorcode 10). My other hp laptop could read the card just fine.
How can I find out which cards are compatible with my laptop and could anybody tell me wether I could use a 256Gb sandisk extreme card?

Its specs shows it has one multi-format SD media card reader:

It will accept normal SD/SDHC/SDXC cards. You can use microSD card inside an adapter. I'm using Samsung microSC card but put it to an adapter
Regards.
