why cannot set up the Hello fingerprint when all my friend can why is that?

the message says unavailable something something... what should i do

Your friend may have a fingerprint sensor that is enabled and setup in the BIOS.

Your laptop may  not comply with either of those things.

 

You have not provided that kind of information as you gave only a partial product name that does not allow the specific hardware configuration to be found by any of us.

We are a Peer-to-Peer Forum for people who use HP Technology.

 

According to the Maintenance and Service Guide , the fingerprint sensor is available on "select products".

This means not every computer in the series comes with this added feature.

Pages 11-13

 

See the note on Page 11

IMPORTANT: To verify that your computer supports fingerprint reader sign-in, type Sign-in options
in the taskbar search box and follow the on-screen instructions. If Fingerprint reader is not listed as an
option, then your notebook does not include a fingerprint reader.

 

On those systems that do not include a fingerprint reader, the little square is just a cover - not a sensor.

  • HINT: To see a system-specific list, replace the Product Number with your device Serial Number
