for about three months now, whenever i turn on my laptop, the face recognition icon shows, then a message under it saying "something went wrong, please try again." i have to use my fingerprint or pin to unlock, whereas, previously, i would just power on the device or wake it up. if i go to the sign in options in settings, it says no windows hello compatible camera is installed. does anyone have any  ideas on how to fix this? thanks.

@A_Tulsi  Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with windows hello face recognition.

Cause:

The following Group Policy setting does not currently allow log-on or sign-on through facial recognition:

Computer Configuration / Local Policies / Security Options

Interactive logon: Do not display last user name: Enable

By default, this Group Policy setting is disabled, however, after update it may not be.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, change this setting to  Disabled, or wait for the anniversary update of Windows 10.
