Hi @ssatpute,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding stylus issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your stylus pen is not working on an HP Chromebook x2 after it has been idle for a long time, this could be due to low battery or an outdated Chrome operating system. Here are the steps to resolve these issues:

Check and Recharge the Battery

Attach the Pen to the Charging Location: Ensure that the stylus is attached to the designated charging area on the tablet.

Check Battery Status: Select the pen icon displayed in the Windows taskbar to confirm charging. Look for the battery icon with a lightning bolt indicating it is charging.

Charge Fully: Ensure the stylus pen is charged for at least 30 minutes.

Update Chrome OS

If the stylus pen stops working due to idle display settings:

  1. Update Chromebook: Ensure your Chromebook's operating system is updated to version M93 or later. Follow these steps:
    • Turn on your Chromebook and connect it to a wireless network.
    • At the bottom-right corner, select the time and then select Settings.
    • In the settings menu, at the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS. Under Google Chrome OS, find your version.
    • Click Check for updates. If available, the update will download automatically.

I hope this helps.
