Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thank you for sharing the details. We understand that your HP laptop initially experienced a black screen issue, and after multiple restarts it started normally. Following the installation of available updates, the laptop now displays a BIOS corruption detection message during startup. We appreciate the information you've provided so far.
To better understand the situation and guide you appropriately, could you please share:
- The complete HP product/model number (from the bottom label or purchase documents).
- The full BIOS error message shown on the screen (a photo is helpful if possible).
- Does the laptop currently power on and display the BIOS corruption message every time?
- Have there been any recent events such as a BIOS update, unexpected shutdown, battery drain, or power interruption during an update?
- Is the warranty still active?
In the meantime, please try these basic checks:
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Disconnect the charger and any external devices (USB drives, printers, monitors, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Reconnect only the charger and attempt to power on the laptop.
- If the BIOS corruption message appears, note any error codes or recovery options displayed on the screen.
- Observe whether the Caps Lock or Num Lock LEDs blink in a pattern and let us know the number of blinks.
Once you share the HP model and the exact BIOS corruption message, we can better identify whether this is related to BIOS recovery, firmware integrity, or another startup component and provide the most suitable guidance.
We're looking forward to helping you get back up and running!
Regards,
Hawks_Eye
