Assisting my friend whose laptop boots up with a 3F0 Boot Device Not Found Error. The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI posted the following on a quick hard drive check.

 

Smart check passed / Short DST failed

 

Failure ID: 6c7e7r-81na5s-mfpwmf-60x403

That error code means the drive has failed and needs to be replaced.

 

Once you have the replacement drive, read through this material about restoring the PC to working condition ...

 

If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.

The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
