HP does not provide Ubuntu support to consumers, nor does it provide any Linux drivers or software for that model PC.
Your best bet for Linux support is to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you are trying to install -- in this case, the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/
As an interim, you should use Ubuntu to make installation media, boot from that, and select Try -- to run the OS in "live mode". that will enable you to see, first-hand, how well Ubuntu detects the hardware on your PC and installs working drivers.
