I have an old HP8570w from work that I am trying to load from scratch a new operating system on a new hard drive.
The problem I am having is that all the "Fx" boot options (like F9 to change the boost order) take me to a screen that only allows me to diagnostics such are test the hard drive (works) and memory (works). There is nothing that allows me to change the boot order to allow a boot from something other than the hard drive.
I have a w7 image on a bootable thumb drive that has been patched to include USB drivers and I have used this drive before to install W7 on my gaming desktop. Unfortunately, the boot process does not see it and I cannot get to a screen to change the boot order.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance....

Hello @xDanTx
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome !
The boot order can be managed and changed permanently in the BIOS (F10).
F9 is just a temporary changing the boot options - once.
You can repeatedly hit (like tap-tap-tap) the Esc button to see all options available once you press the power-on.
I understand you have used this USB pendrive before and it worked but you need to make sure it works now. If you still face difficulties, try booting from it from another PC to make sure it is OK now. Something might have changed/corrupted in the meantime.
Cheers!

Could you take a few pictures using a camera or smartphone about Esc options, F10, what is inside, what you see ?
Then upload them somewhere (e.g. sites like WeUpload, or your OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox account) and give me a link to see them. Thank you for your cooperation !
