My Computer: HP Envy dv6t-7300 CTO Quad Edition Laptop (Running Windows 8.1) [User Manual]
When Problem Occurred: Playing a Videogame.. Computer Shut-off
*Exxtra: I have an exact replica computer that is owned by my brother to test/play around and trouble shoot with
Problem: Upon crash, I figured it was simply overheating? I waited 30 minutes until i attempted to re-boot, and was stuck in an on-off-on-off boot loop. Lights are powering on, computer gets a charge, just cannnot boot to screen.
1)I swapped my hard-drive into my brothers computer, and got
(Boot Device Not Found - Plz install an Operating System) Hard Disk 3F0
I launched an F2 system diagnostic, in which
Memory Quick Check - Passed
SMART Check - Passed
Short & Long DST - Passed
One user also suggest I make sure to look if Legacy Boot was Disabled, which it is, as found in the Bios
2) I tried the reverse, putting my brothers hard-drive into my computer, to see if it might auto-correct the boot-loop. Of which, it did not.
Where I am at now:
In order to fix the lack of an operating system on my hard-drive, I need to install a fresh copy of Windows 8.1
(Correct me if I am wrong)
Regarding the (Boot-Loop) I am alittle less familiar with what the issue could be, and am looking for suggestions
Thanks in Advance!
*Will be monitoring the post, and can post pictures/video if helpful 😄

Hi:
Since you were able to test the hard drive and apparently, there are no issues with it, yes...time to reinstall W8.1.
However, since your notebook came with W8 from HP, you need to do this in order to reinstall W8.1 for free.
Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO
If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.
This is the generic key for W8.1 'Standard.'
334NH-RXG76-64THK-C7CKG-D3VPT
When you get to the screen that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space. Click Next, and W8.1 should begin to install.
If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8 key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.
After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8 product key in your PC's BIOS.
I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so it is bootable.
Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

Thank you Paul for the helpful links.
Will set-up my usb stick to download the fresh copy of Windows onto my computer this weekend.
On Monday the adaptor for my hard-drive should be arriving in the mail to secure files to another computer before I go ahead with a fresh install. Will keep thread updated then

Monday Update:
After plugging in my HDD drive to my desktop to transfer files, I was prompted with "Automatic Repair and Recovery", which I accepted and agreed to. [Which recovered access to file storage areas that I did not have access to upon initial plug-in]
^That being said, I plugged in my HDD drive into my brothers computer (before I used the fresh copy of Windows to see if the Boot Error remained), of which, it was "resolved", and my HDD on my brothers computer booted like normal, and nothing had happened.
I then removed my HDD drive from my brothers computer, and placed it in my own, to see if I was corrected there.... unfortunately that was not the case. Below I have linked a short video of what occurs.
As you can see the power, and lights turn on, but it gets restarted as fast as it turns on, and continues this way until you take out the battery in the back.
Any suggestions?

Hi:
Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for how to fix that problem.
So, I take it that you reinstalled W8.1 on your original hard drive using your brother's notebook, saw it worked fine, plugged it back into your notebook, and got nothing.
It seems to me to be more than a hard drive booting issue.

Yes, my HDD drive and OS are now 100% operational... just not on my computer ... lol
I figured HP does not repair older computers and would not be willing to troubleshoot this one... so I am going to take it apart, and unseat everything and replug in to see if I can spot anything out of the ordinary, and maybe find a fix that way...

Thank you (Paul_Tikkanen) for sticking with me, and helping to resolve my issue.
After our last conversation I forwarded my computer to a third party repair shop, of which I was told it was a GPU failure and the technician rendered the computer "Beyond repair"... bummer 😞
Anyways, just wanted to say thanks!
Gonna go browse, Notebook and Hardware Questions 😄
