Hi,
That would explain why you're getting this error although I couldn't say why HP have not updated your driver page for 1703 - anyway, you should find the updated version I linked to previously will work Ok.

Hi,
Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.

Hi,
In your original post, you didn't mention which version of the accelerometer software you installed, which is why I suggested sp78033 as it usually corrects this particular issue.

Thanks, that version of the program seems to have fixed the issue but this does bring up a question that I hope you know the answer to.
This program is suppose to "save" a hard drive if PC is dropped. My PC has a solid state drive so do you still suggest that I have the program running?

Hi,
You're welcome.
While the software is only applicable for mechancical hard drives - it monitors the accelerometer and if freefall is detected, sends an instruction to park the drive heads - personally, I'd leave it installed, if only to avoid an error showing in Device Manager.
