App update message - HP Accelerometer

l am getting a Compatability Assistant message. 

HP Accelerometer

Hewlett Packard

HP Accelerometer does not work with this version of Windows.

An updated app may be available.

I believe this is a virus.  Comments.  Solution on removing.

Hi,

Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.

I had the same problem and followed the steps of uninstalling and installing again but now the program Hp 3D Driveguard does not appear in my programs.

How do I activate it after downloading?

Hello,

I too cannot find any indication on my laptop that the new HP Accelerometer has been installed, after having followed the necessary steps. Maybe this is normal, but to me - I am not experienced - it seems that something did not go as it should be. Thanks in advance for your reaction.

Muchas gracias por las instrucciones, el problema del Hp-Accelerometer fue resuelto con las indicaciones.

That link only opens and places the install program into a folder on the C drive.

Open the C drive you will see some folders.

One is SWsetup, open it. You will see more folders.

One near the bottom is what you want SP81142.

Open that folder then click on setup. follow instructions.

That is the install program.

Its nice to hear other people have the same accelormeter issue BUT the advice or some of is so blooming technical where you have to go in about the bones of a computer that I have no knowledge or experience of so cant do it ? Can a simple auto fix be compiled ?

Also since the updte I cannot get the hp help for updates thing to work properly either ? it does hp servers , messages etc then stops showing about 3 green arrows then two grey x,s ?

I am also experiencing the same "HP Accelerometer" incompatiblity with WIndows 10 error message.   I try to find the HP 3D Driveguard (or anything similar) in the Control Panel's Programs & Features list.  But see nothing at all similar. So, still have the same question as others  - how do I either update the HP Accelerometer program so that it works with WIndows 10, and/or delete the error message that is displayed every time I startup my PC?
