Hi @Unison2025,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A corrupted or missing BIOS recovery file error indicates an issue with your HP Envy x360's BIOS firmware. To address this, follow these steps.
Power Reset the Laptop
- Shut down the laptop completely.
- Disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop. Check if the issue persists.
Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive
Use another computer to create a USB drive with the correct BIOS files for recovery:
- Download the BIOS Update:
- Go to the HP Software & Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your laptop's model number (e.g., HP Envy x360 14).
- Navigate to the BIOS section and download the latest BIOS update.
- Prepare the USB Drive:
- Use an empty USB drive with at least 8GB capacity.
- Run the downloaded BIOS update file on the other computer.
- Select the option to Create Recovery USB Flash Drive.
- Insert the USB into the laptop with the BIOS issue.
Initiate BIOS Recovery
- With the USB drive connected, turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press the power button for 2–3 seconds while still holding the keys.
- Release the keys. The laptop should attempt to boot into BIOS recovery mode.
- Follow on-screen instructions to restore or update the BIOS.
Reset the CMOS Battery (If Necessary)
If the above steps fail, resetting the CMOS battery might help. For this:
- Disconnect the laptop battery and CMOS battery (requires opening the back panel).
- Wait for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect everything.
- Restart the laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
