Hi @Unison2025,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A corrupted or missing BIOS recovery file error indicates an issue with your HP Envy x360's BIOS firmware. To address this, follow these steps.

Power Reset the Laptop

  1. Shut down the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop. Check if the issue persists.

Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive

Use another computer to create a USB drive with the correct BIOS files for recovery:

  1. Download the BIOS Update:
    • Go to the HP Software & Driver Downloads page.
    • Enter your laptop's model number (e.g., HP Envy x360 14).
    • Navigate to the BIOS section and download the latest BIOS update.
  2. Prepare the USB Drive:
    • Use an empty USB drive with at least 8GB capacity.
    • Run the downloaded BIOS update file on the other computer.
    • Select the option to Create Recovery USB Flash Drive.
  3. Insert the USB into the laptop with the BIOS issue.

Initiate BIOS Recovery

  1. With the USB drive connected, turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press the power button for 2–3 seconds while still holding the keys.
  3. Release the keys. The laptop should attempt to boot into BIOS recovery mode.
  4. Follow on-screen instructions to restore or update the BIOS.

Reset the CMOS Battery (If Necessary)

If the above steps fail, resetting the CMOS battery might help. For this:

  • Disconnect the laptop battery and CMOS battery (requires opening the back panel).
  • Wait for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect everything.
  • Restart the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
