When changing BOOT  to Leacgey in BIOS my laptop goes to Reboot  and  select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key what do I do now?

Why are you setting to Legacy boot?

Are you trying to install an OS?

You set it to legacy by mistake?

I am replying to your comments why are you setting to Legacy I was setting to Legacy because I didn't know what to enable so I enabled all boots ,I can't get my laptop to restart that is what I was trying to do , my laptop is stuck in recovery Manager and control prompt is not working either so I am in a mess can you help? Bessie

OK.

What you are describing could indicate a failure of the drive, so first you should try performing HP hardware diagnostics at boot and perform the system test (short) or at least the short hard drive test.

Turn off the PC by holding the power button

Turn on the PC and repeatedly keep hitting the ESC key until startup menu appears

Press F2 to enter diagnostics

Perform the system test or at least the Hard Drive test

 

Let me know if there are any hardware errors.
