Hi guys! I m back again cus from the time that i ve update my pc with Hp Support Assistent, my pc for i don t know what reason didn't turn off. After all the type of try finally they suggested to turn of the "fast start option" and my pc finally turned off. Here's the problem. First of all my pc is really slow to turn off and second (and most important thing) my pc can't go on stand by mode. When i close my pc to put it on stand by, when i re open it my pc don t do anything even if i press all the keyboard is like it s blocked for i don t know what reason. I also did an update for my Amd Radeon but i still have all this problem and i don't know how to fix it. Please if anyone none any other solution i m here! Thank you

I have exactly the same issue. After updating the BIOS from the HP Support Assistant, the laptop wouldn't shut down unless I forced it. I turned off the fast start option, and it apparently solved the problem, but now as Brexan mentions, it will shut down automatically if it goes to stand by. The light on the start button stays on for a couple of seconds, it won't respond to any key. If I press the start button again, it will suddenly shut down, and then restart from scratch, like if nothing had happened.
After this, I noticed that if I start the computer after shutting down, it will do the same thing as before: the light of the start button turns on as well as the fans, but there's nothing in the screen. The everything thing turns off, like if you forced it to shut down, and the reboots like nothing had happened.
I don't know if Brexan is experiencing this as well, but I don't know what to do. My laptop is an HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cq0xxx running Windows 10 Home Single Language (Version 1903)

Hi Brexan,
Is this the latest BIOS you have installed?
Have you also completely updated with HP support assistant. You can find in apps or the little blue question mark in Taskbar.
What Windows version do you have installed?
Press WinKey+R and type winver
Let me know,
David

So i ve done everything but my pc still have the same problem. My version of Bios is F.31 and i found another thing. I can't check my battery status cus the program don t recognize it. It said a message like this: "Unable to check battery status. Turn off the PC, then reinsert the battery and CA adaptor. If this does not solve the problem, check that the latest versions of the HP battery and BIOS control are installed" I already tried to do the system Restore but it did not work anyway. I really don't know anymore what to do to get it back to normal this PC, which is brand new by the way. About the button to mute the volume, I explain better. It works but the indicator light doesn't turn on anymore.

I think I have done the same as Brexan, updating the BIOS, restoring the BIOS, downgrading to the previous Windows version, and nothing. It looks like it is a serious problem and I'm afraid this will cause permanent or severe damage to the computer. Mine as well is only 2 months old, but I'm abroad and I can't use the guaranty. I don't know if it came after the BIOS Update from the HP Support Assistant or the latest version of Windows, but something is definitely not going well.

Update: I did a restore of the system configurations yesterday (returning the HP to the factory settings). The button light to mute the volume turns on, so one less problem. With the fast start option activated my PC takes a really long time to turn off and the thing that worries me is that when it is going to turn off the fan increases speed for about 20 seconds as if there is something that prevents the PC from turning off. About the stand by mode I still have the same problem, when I lower the screen of the PC and reopen it, the screen remains black the keyboard illuminates but if i press any key of the PC this dont t do nothin and i ve to force the shut down. This is the current situation.
