@WAWood

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

@Jokhyt

@WAWood  is correct - there is naught to be done unless the computer is failing due to bad components.  If the computer is actually broken due to need for maintenance, perhaps a full diagnostic of the internals will uncover something actionable.  Test and fix.

The thread is several years old -- it does address the issue of the "Unknown" app.

Author is a Microsoft Mod / Expert.

I tend to not gainsay people who claim to know the subject matter they discuss.

What to do?

Some of my favorites for monster Zbook Fury G8 -- The usual...

  • If the system is straining for resources outside itself, install a top-tier router and clean up the network.
  • Live with high-grade components - purchase a baby consumer grade computer for battery savings.
  • Run backups as often as needful for your sanity - know that even incremental File History backups will impact resources.  Check frequency, when, and how backups are run.
  • Darken the screen a bit to where you can see comfortably - less is better for the display / battery
  • Remove fancy backgrounds - use a plain gray background,
  • Reduce the number of shortcuts on the Desktop,
  • Reduce / manage the Windows Search -- check what you want / need in the Search Index and pay attention to how it impacts resources.  Save multiple changes to the search hierarchy for when you are not running on battery.  For example, don't delete or add 500 or so files where they will impact your Search Index.
  • Check your Windows Startup apps list - switch off (remove from Startup) any apps that you can stand to start when needed and not have running in the background as soon as Windows starts.

Truth -- Nothing really works for monster Zbook -- too many high-grade components -- I get a bit more than an hour or 90 minutes on a decent battery.

All comments meant in kindness.

Good Luck.

Hello Dragon-Fur, so you are telling me that this is normal for a laptop? Then why is it advertised to be 8 hours battery life? And is the problem in the computer components or is it the software issue?

@Jokhyt

No, I am not telling you what is normal for your computer.

Perish the thought.

I think you should pursue whatever solution is right for your situation.

I am not understand, you guys are supposed to help me find a solution and not tell me that I should pick whatever solution. If I knew any solutions I wouldn't be here lmao

Ah, OK.

In my haste to try and offer something of my own experience, I missed the queue that you are not seeking advice that does not provide a concrete “do this” solution.

That mis-read is my fault for engaging with you when I do not have the means to give you what you want.

I believe I have nothing more useful to offer you in this instance — your problem is outside of my area of expertise.

I just tested the same test on another computer and turns out as you said the Unknown [NONE] is the computer's components which makes sense why they are taking up so much battery. Thank you for helping me guys! Have a great day!
