Hi @Nitin104,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the battery issue with your HP Laptop – 14s-er0003tu. I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when the battery percentage doesn’t reflect the actual charge and the device shuts down unexpectedly.
The symptoms you described — fast battery drain, shutdown at 55%, and then showing 0% — strongly suggest that the battery calibration is off or the battery itself may be failing or degraded.
Try These Steps First:
BIOS Restore:
1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in
2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.
Battery Calibration
Let’s recalibrate your battery to help Windows better read its charge level:
- Charge the battery to 100% (leave it plugged in for an extra 30 minutes after reaching 100%).
- Unplug the charger and use the laptop normally until it shuts down on its own.
- Leave it off for at least 1 hour.
- Recharge it back to 100% again without interruption.
This helps reset how your system reads the battery level. If the problem persists, move to the next step.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
You can use HP’s built-in battery check tool:
- Shut down the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately tap F2 repeatedly until the HP Hardware Diagnostics screen appears.
- Select Component Tests > Power > Battery Test.
- Let the test run and review the results.
If the battery status shows "Replace" or "Weak", the battery may need to be serviced or replaced.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
