I believe on your model you can remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard to clear password also. Remove power cord, external battery and the CMOS battery. Press power button for 15 seconds. Reinstall CMOS battery but leave out the external battery for now. Plug in power and startup.

Try removing the battery as I mentioned above.
