Hi @Lwandilezwane05,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is stuck in a state where it requires a BIOS recovery and is not turning on despite following the recovery steps from HP support, here’s a more detailed guide to attempt recovery.
Prepare a USB Recovery Drive
Requirements:
- A working computer with internet access.
- A USB drive with at least 8 GB capacity.
Create the Recovery Drive:
- On the working computer, go to the HP Support website for BIOS recovery and download the BIOS Update file for your laptop model.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to create a BIOS recovery USB.
Perform a BIOS Recovery
Insert the USB:
- Plug the prepared USB drive into your non-functional HP laptop.
Initiate Recovery:
- Disconnect the power adapter and ensure the laptop is off.
- Hold down the Windows key + B (or Windows key + V) and press the Power button.
- Keep holding the keys for about 5 seconds, then release the keys but keep the Power button pressed until the laptop powers on or you see the BIOS recovery screen.
Follow Instructions:
- If the recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the recovery.
Additional Steps if BIOS Recovery Fails
Power Reset the Laptop:
- Disconnect the laptop from power and remove the battery (if possible).
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter and try turning it on again.
Check for Signs of Life:
- Look for blinking lights or beeps. These might indicate a hardware or firmware issue.

Attempt HP Emergency BIOS Recovery:
- Some HP laptops have a System Board Crisis Recovery Mode that might work even if the laptop doesn't start. Try pressing the Windows key + B with the Power button again, but this time wait longer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
