Product: HP EliteBook 8460p Notebook PC

Hello, I'm having troubles updating my bios ver f.08. I'm using a recovery flash disk and I downloaded the necessary files from HP's website but when I plug the flash back into the second pc and check the logs it shows that 68SCF.s12 file is not being read and when I check the folder I can see that file is missing. I followed all the steps during process of creating a recovery flash drive. My laptop's giving an input/output error every time I try to install an os. Initially on boot up it showed a 501 error. Now I'm stuck, any help would be appreciated
