Hi,
I have some problem here with my laptop HP Envy, that i bought several months ago.
Last friday while i am working on my laptop, there was a pop up notification from HP support that i should restart my laptop.
After I restart, the screen turn into blue and locked by bitlocker and request the recovery key 48 digit numeric.
Please note, that I have never been alerted by microsoft / HP about this password or recovery key matter..
So i have nothing about the key.
Now all my data encrypted by bitlocker.
Can i have my bitlocker recovery key?
I have all identity of my laptop such as serial number, etc..
Thank you.

Hi,
when you enable Bitlocker (which is part from the Microsoft OS) it asked you to save the recovery key on a USB stick or print it out. It didn´t allow you to save it to a HD.
Therfore only you have this key, nobody else ... if that PC is connected to an ActiveDirectory (if you work for a company) it might be that the IT Department can give you the recovery key ... if not everything is encrypted and neither Microsoft nor HP can help here...
If the answer is helpful mark it with Kudos by clicking on the kudos button. If your problem is solved then mark it as solved. Thanks 🙂
P.S.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
