I have an HP laptop.....about 14 months old. I created two accounts, one for me and one for mu kids. Recently I went to use the computet and my profile when started goes to a black screen. This is weird because I can log into my kids profile and it loads and works properly. Any help appreciated.

Hello @Sean658
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Such things happen from time to time on Windows. The solution is to :
- copy your personal files from the corrupted profile folder(s) to some 3rd party location (e.g. different folder outside the user profile)
- create a new account
- abondon old corrupted account
- delete old corrupted account
- start using the new account
- copy/move/restore copied files to the new account
In order to do the above, your other account(s) need to have admin rights and not be limited users.
- Your files and profiles are located in C:\Users\~username~
- Copy whatever you need into your kid's profile or some other newly created folder in C:\
- You can create a new account for youself in Start -> Settings -> Accounts
- Delete the old account while in Start -> Settings -> Accounts -> here is how >> https://www.onmsft.com/news/delete-user-accounts
- Restart the PC and login to the new account
- Copy and restore your files there. Configure your preferences, settings, etc.
Let me know how it goes
