I am using ho victus gaming laptop with windows 11

When I open my laptop it takes load after I enter password then it stuck and after 5 to 8 second then screen turn black and it shows some different errors

Like critical process died, memory management error, win32 error

Some time it works for 3 4 hours and shows this issue but in very rare case it works

And sometime the screen doesn't even turn on after pressing power button the screen remain black but the led on power button it blinks and other led on keyboard don't on

I have installed new original windows

I have updated BIOS

I have checked ram slot and SSD slot both are fine

I have applied thermal paste (new)

But the same problem occurs

Hi @Aniketpawar

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the situation in such detail. It’s genuinely frustrating to face intermittent black screens and critical errors—especially after taking all the right steps.

Let’s walk through a structured approach to help isolate and resolve this issue.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Run System File Checker and DISM

These tools repair corrupted system files that may be triggering the black screen.

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator
  • Run:sfc /scannow
  • Then:DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

2. Perform a Clean Boot

This disables all non-Microsoft services and startup items to rule out third-party conflicts.

  • Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter
  • Under Services, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all
  • Under Startup, open Task Manager and disable all items
  • Restart and observe behavior

3. Check Event Viewer Logs

This can reveal what’s crashing before the black screen.

  • Press Win + X > Event Viewer
  • Navigate to Windows Logs > System
  • Look for red “Error” entries around the time of the crash
  • Pay attention to entries related to wininit, kernel-power, or ntoskrnl.exe

4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

This checks for deeper hardware faults.

  • Turn off the laptop
  • Press Esc repeatedly during startup, then select F2 for diagnostics
  • Run Extensive Test on memory and storage
  • Reference: HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

5. Update Chipset and Storage Drivers Manually

Even with HP Support Assistant, some drivers may be outdated or misconfigured.

  • Visit the HP Victus GT Series Driver Page
  • Download and install the latest:
    • Intel Chipset Driver
    • Intel Management Engine Interface
    • Storage Controller (RST or AHCI)
    • Graphics drivers (Intel + NVIDIA)

6. Check for Firmware Lock or TPM Conflicts

Rarely, firmware-level security features can interfere with boot.

  • Enter BIOS (Esc or F10 during startup)
  • Disable Secure Boot temporarily
  • Disable TPM if enabled
  • Save and exit

If the Screen Doesn’t Turn On at All

When the screen remains black and only the power LED blinks:

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect power adapter
  • Hold power button for 15 seconds
  • Reconnect and try powering on

Try External Display

  • Connect to HDMI monitor to check if GPU output is functional

BIOS Recovery (if available)

  • Press Windows + B while holding the power button for 2–3 seconds
  • This may trigger BIOS recovery mode

I’m truly sorry this has persisted despite your efforts—it’s exhausting when a system behaves unpredictably. If the issue continues after these steps, it may be time to consider a service-level board diagnostic.

I can help guide that process if needed. Let’s get your Victus back to stable performance.
