Earlier I was doubting corrupt Hard Drive but after performing Diagnostics it says OK.
The test result indicates that the Hard Drive/SSD test - 1st Pass has been successfully completed. The following checks passed:
- Hard Drive/SSD SMART Check
- SSD Wear Check (wear level is 8%)
- Hard Drive/SSD Short DST Check
- Hard Drive/SSD Quick Test (1 of 2)
The PASS ID is 24847-44210-69654, and the serial number is Edited. No issues were identified with the hard drive/SSD. You can save the results in the Test Logs via the Main Menu and consider running advanced tests for expanded coverage by selecting the Continue button.

@Manish157, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Based on your description, you're encountering a Blue Screen Error with the Stop Code: DRIVER PNP WATCHDOG on your HP ENVY x360 15 series laptop, and Windows Recovery doesn't detect the hard drive, despite diagnostics showing the SSD is healthy.
This issue typically relates to driver or storage controller problems, especially during boot or OS installation. Here's a step-by-step guide to help resolve it:
Confirm BIOS Detects the SSD
- Turn off the laptop.
- Power it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
- In BIOS, check under Storage or System Information to see if the SSD is listed.
If the SSD is not detected in BIOS, it could be a hardware or connection issue. If it is detected, proceed to the next steps.
Change SATA Controller Mode in BIOS
Sometimes, Windows installation or recovery tools fail to detect the SSD due to the SATA controller mode.
- In BIOS (F10), go to Advanced > Storage Configuration.
- Change the SATA Mode from RAID to AHCI.
- Save changes and exit BIOS.
Note: If Windows was previously installed in RAID mode, changing to AHCI might cause boot issues. But since you're reinstalling, AHCI is preferred.
Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Recommended)
If Windows Recovery doesn't detect the drive, use the HP Cloud Recovery Tool to create a fresh recovery USB:
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
- Download and install the tool on another working PC.
- Enter your product ID: 268T5AV.
- Create a recovery USB drive.
- Boot your HP laptop from this USB (press Esc > F9 for Boot Menu).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall Windows.
Load Storage Drivers During Windows Setup
If the SSD still isn't detected during installation:
- On the "Where do you want to install Windows?" screen, click Load Driver.
- Download Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) drivers from HP:
- Extract the IRST driver to a USB.
- Load it during Windows setup to detect the SSD.
Run Full UEFI Diagnostics (Optional but Recommended)
You’ve already run basic diagnostics, but you can run extensive tests:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press Esc > F2 for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Choose System Tests > Extensive Test and run it overnight.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
