Hi @Gilangismyname,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The blue screen errors you're encountering, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, may be related to issues with the hardware, drivers, or the new SSD installation. Here are some steps you can try to resolve these issues.
Check SSD Health and Compatibility
- Ensure that the new SSD is compatible with your laptop.
- Run a disk check to ensure the SSD is functioning correctly:
- Open Command Prompt as administrator and type: chkdsk /f /r and press Enter.
- You may need to restart your laptop for this process to complete.
Update All Drivers
- Outdated or incompatible drivers, especially graphics and storage drivers, can trigger blue screens.
- Go to Device Manager (press Windows + X > Device Manager) and update all drivers, particularly:
- Storage controller (for SSD).
- Graphics drivers.
- Chipset drivers.
- Alternatively, you can go to the manufacturer's website (HP or SSD manufacturer) and download the latest drivers.
Check for Windows Updates
- Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve underlying issues with system files and drivers. Check for pending updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install any available updates.
Test RAM
- IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL can also be caused by faulty RAM. Run Windows Memory Diagnostic:
- Press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and press Enter.
- Choose to restart and check for problems. If errors are found, you may need to replace your RAM.
Check for Overheating
- Even though you suspect overheating, it’s still a good idea to monitor your laptop's temperature using tools like HWMonitor or Core Temp.
- If temperatures are high, clean the fans or consider using a cooling pad.

Disable Fast Startup
- Fast Startup can sometimes cause blue screen errors after hardware changes. To disable it:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.
- Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable, and uncheck Turn on fast startup.
Check for Corrupted System Files
- Corrupted system files can trigger blue screens. Run the System File Checker (SFC) and DISM tools:
- Open Command Prompt as administrator and type: sfc /scannow and press Enter.
- After it completes, type: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter.
Reinstall Windows (Optional)
- If the issue persists, consider reinstalling Windows to eliminate any software-related causes of the blue screens. Backup your data first.
Check Event Viewer for Detailed Error Logs
- If none of the above works, check the Event Viewer for more details about the errors:
- Press Windows + X > Event Viewer.
- Under Windows Logs > System, look for entries related to the blue screen errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
