HP Envy laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

New HP Envy laptop. The blue spinner keeps spinning next to cursor as soon as I open an application or internet. It is causing screen freeze in zoom and skype. It sounds like background apps are running, as laptop becomes noisy. Or that might be the fan?  but I've been to task manager and no background processing is going on. I've run all the diagnositics on the HP help website and all it fine. I've tried in on wireless and Ethernet and makes no difference.

Help please

@Dhumber

What is common in Zoom and Skype is that they are both essentially video streaming -- and that places a heavy demand on laptop resources.  When I do that on my 4-core laptop, the cores all go to nearly 100%, the fan runs at max speed, and the laptop (apart from the streaming) slows to a crawl.

Does yours also have the problem when you are simply Browsing, or is it only when video streaming?
