@Oikonomko, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're encountering a blue screen with the message "We ran into a problem" on your HP Laptop. This is commonly referred to as a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and can be caused by hardware or software issues.

Let’s go through some steps to help resolve this:

Note the Stop Code

When the blue screen appears, it usually includes a Stop Code (e.g., CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, etc.). If you can, please note this code, it helps identify the root cause.

Boot into Safe Mode

If your laptop restarts repeatedly, try booting into Safe Mode:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until the Recovery Menu appears.
  3. Select Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  4. Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.

 Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Check for hardware issues using HP’s built-in diagnostics:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and immediately press Esc, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  3. Run the System Tests (especially the Memory and Hard Drive tests).

Perform System Restore

If the issue started recently, a System Restore can revert your system to a previous working state:

  1. Boot into Safe Mode (as above).
  2. Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore.
  3. Follow the prompts to restore to a previous point.

Update Drivers and Windows

Outdated drivers or Windows updates can cause BSODs:

  • In Safe Mode, open Device Manager and check for any devices with a yellow warning.
  • Visit HP Support page to download the latest drivers for your model.
  • Also, run Windows Update from Settings > Update & Security.

Reset the PC (if needed)

If none of the above steps work, consider resetting Windows:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC.
  • Choose Keep my files to preserve your data.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
